Wanna use BITCOIN and other cryptocurrencies to pay for things? Well, it's going to get a whole lot easier if you have a Coinbase account. Coinbase, a leading digital-assets exchange, has a new service for merchants to be able to accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Ethereum for payments. Simple, too. An email and phone number is all it takes. Coinbase Commerce will join Overstock, Expedia and Microsoft in accepting cryptocurrencies for goods and services. One of the biggest impediments to cryptocurrencies becoming an accepted payment vehicle is getting merchants to easily accept and process cryptos (bitcoin). Japan is at the front of this wave and has designated bitcoin legal tender, so the tsunami is heading to our shores. Getting bigger, everyone.

Digital-assets exchange Coinbase Inc. is releasing a service for merchants to accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin payments, and deposit them into their own digital wallets, according to a blog post by the San Francisco-based company. The setup requires just an email address and a phone number.

The product, called Coinbase Commerce, can be directly integrated into a merchant’s checkout flow or added as a payment option on an e-commerce platform. Commerce platform Shopify, which was already accepting Bitcoin payments, is one of the first platforms to start using the service, Coinbase said..."
