Note from the CEO:  The FBI. Rule 41 (quick, name rules 1-40) and paranoid government officials. Which means all that anonymous/privacy bitcoin stuff may go away.  All Tor users would be targeted since it is assumed that only very evil people want that extra secrecy. BUT, we all know that the worst “culprits” are (gasp) bitcoin users. Yeah, they deserve to be hacked……right??

"Bitcoin has been facing a lot of scrutiny from government officials all over the world. The FBI is not too keen on Bitcoin users either as can be seen from their revised Rule 41 proposal. This stems forth from assuming cryptocurrency is anonymous and used for terrorism funding, which is not the case. But the FBI is looking to take things one step further. That is, assuming US Congress doesn’t stop it.

The legislative proposal in questions is called Rule 41. If these changes are approved, the FBI can use one single warrant to hack an unlimited number of computer round the world. This is not something anyone should be looking forward to, as it would end user privacy.Bitcoin has been facing a lot of scrutiny from government officials all over the world.
