What? Its Monday? OMG, totally forgot to set the alarm clock this morning.
THAT has to be the answer for the lack of interest and activity in today's markets. Of course it is a short week with Friday being a holiday (Good Friday) and Spring break vacations taking place all over. But still, this is very dull and slow. The major averages (DOW, S&P500, NASDAQ Composite) all barely budged today and each finished with a teeny weeny gain. Seems the averages were quite happy to just watch as oil moved higher and stocks fought the urge to make any meaningful move.
However
, in the past (recent, not ancient) slow markets had the propensity to moveUP
. Not any more. The markets are tired and exhausted. A couple of those robot types get antsy and start selling and things could (will) get nasty.............and fast. In the fintech focus space today the KFTX fintech index rocketed up a whopping.57
of a point (sarcastic comment), a+0.05%
to close basically unchanged at 1118.69. But, the advances beat the decliners by 34 to 16.YAWN!
So, any of those 50 stocks in the KFTX move 2 points and/or 3% today? Lets peek and see.

Well, 3 is not bad I guess. Something has to wake up these markets. Zombies have more life.
Rest of the week? Bond markets close early on Thursday and Friday is a holiday. That doesn't leave many days to have somethingBIG
go on, so lets just expect more of what we saw today............which is,NOTHING!
