What does your firm do/offer within the fintech sector?

Redtail Technology is the leader in web-based Client Relationship Management solutions for financial advisors. Redtail provides financial advisers with the tools and technologies they need to drive their day-to-day operations, which includes a compliant paperless solution and email hosting/archiving. We only focus on the fintech sector in order to provide the best solutions for advisor’s needs.

What area(s) of fintech do you believe will grow the most in the coming 5 years?

Over the next five years, we believe client interaction will undergo the most change. There is a large trend moving towards the end client experience. risk analysis, financial planning, and portfolio management are all shifting their focus to how an advisor interacts with their clients, which we believe is due to the upcoming transfer of wealth. The next generation of investors was born with technology and interacts with each other through technology. We are already seeing a focus on portals, dashboard, mobile apps, and other technologies that allow investors to monitor their investments and interact with their accounts. Redtail understands that the CRM plays an important role in bringing all information and interactions together for the advisor. Notes and documentation will continue to be vital for advisors as they interact with their clients across a broad range of communication channels.

What do you believe the next major innovation in financial technology will be and why?

At Redtail, we believe the next major innovation will revolve around making big data analytics usable for advisors and their clients. The growth of the fintech industry and the internet has created a mass of data that has yet to be effectively used. Projects like IBM Watson have emerged in the fintech industry with the goal of using and implementing “big data.” Our clients are entering a large volume of information on a daily basis about their clients and prospects. We want to continue to provide them better tools to use that data to better service their clients and grow their businesses.
