1/19/17 Daily Closing Analysis - NASDAQ Fintech Index (KFTX)

-------------------------------

Softly lower. Still snoozing, the KFTX rolled over in its sleep and wound up on the low side of the mattress. And, that low side of the mattress means the fintech index softened to close at 1089.27, off by 3.38 points (-0.31%).  Pretty dull out there in market land.

Stocks in the index moving today? Not moving today? Any movement of 2 points and/or 3% makes the list and a round of applause for waking up this morning. Let’s look.

BKFS  -1.15  (34.45)  -3.23% (clap clap clap clap clap)
FDS  -2.04  (169.16)
FLT  -2.12  (150.26)
LC  +.29  (5.78)  +5.28%  (Oh sure, a few pennies up for publicity)
WU  -.72  (21.13)  -3.30%

So, that’s today’s ‘active’ list. Advance/decline showed 14 issues up, 34 down and 1 unchanged.

Tomorrow is inauguration day here in the US and a new era begins. What will the markets do (specifically fintech)? WOW! Sitting close to the all time highs, looking ‘toppy’ but no real selling pressure. Tough call. So, I punt. Not ashamed to say I don’t know. But, old adage from the trading floors, “when in doubt, get out”. Have a very nice evening.
