Overland Park, Kansas -- Feb. 27, 2018 -- MSTS, a global B2B payment and credit solutions provider, today announced the appointment of Piers Gorman as its head of business development for the APAC region. In this new role, Piers will focus on scaling operations and business development in the Australian and Singapore markets. Formerly the VP of business development for World Fuel Services in Africa, he will be responsible for leading the company’s sales and expansion strategy for the region. Based in Singapore, Piers will report directly to Jim Goge, Senior Vice President, Global Sales at MSTS.

“At MSTS, we are continuously expanding and globalizing our portfolio of credit and payments solutions, blending them with a unique local touch that drives deeply into geo-specific business processes and payments,” said Brandon Spear, President of MSTS. “Moving money across borders is still a logistical and regulatory challenge – and one that we excel at. That’s why Piers is such a great addition to our team, as he will spearhead globalization, expansion and localization efforts in APAC.”

Before joining World Fuel Services, Piers served as Managing Director at Dascam Consulting, which was acquired by Ultra Electronics Plc in 2008 and prior to that, he served as Chairman of Sarum Trading, a regional beauty distribution business. Piers began his career serving in the UK Armed Forces before co-founding a defense and security consulting firm, which he helped grow into a 200+ consultant business. Piers is a graduate of Durham University, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Junior Staff College.

“In this era of globalization and ecommerce, the ability for brick and mortar businesses to compete and win utilizing an omnichannel approach is paramount,” said Piers Gorman, VP of business development for APAC at MSTS. “We are uniquely positioned to accelerate business to business commerce with our blend of global and local market expertise, and I am delighted to take the lead here in APAC.”

MSTS will be at this week’s Inside Retail Live: Festival of Retail in Melbourne, Australia, Feb. 28-March 1. To schedule a meeting with Piers Gorman please email [email protected].
