Asleep Fresh week, fresh yawns. First day of Spring and the loud chirping of the robins sure didn't wake up the markets. Today seemed like many of the days of the last several months...........dull and boring. Major averages mixed (Dow off a touch, S&P 500 off a smidge, Nasdaq up tiny, etc) and just drifting around. Not much to read into anything other than ever since the Fed raised rates last week rates have actually declined and the dollar is weakening. Only one word for all that;

nap. The fintech sector was a bit weaker than its big sister's, the major averages. The KBW NASDAQ fintech index (

KFTX

) let

5.83

points be taken from it (

-0.51%

) and closed at 1142.25. Not so robust and, frankly , disappointing. Lets see which of the index's 50 stocks had the gumption to move 2 points and/or 3% today.

FLT

-2.26 (159.97)

HAWK

+2.95 (39.05) +8.17%

So, that's it. Decliners swamped gainers mightily with only 9 issues up, 40 down and 1 unchanged.

Not much in the way of big news this week, only the usual monthly numbers of a garden variety and probably non-market moving. Keep your pillows close for those naps and try and figure out why your basketball brackets blew up. Oh yes,

CAUTION

if you have some long exposure. Have a great evening.
